Livestock, Fence Damage & Emergency Program
If you own a farm or ranch, we encourage you to contact the Sheriff's Office to complete a form with your ranch contact information. Once submitted, we will provide you with uniquely numbered placards for your gates. These placards will be exclusive to you and your property. You can place them on your gates yourself, or we can do it for you.
This system will help our deputies quickly identify and contact landowners in case of a damaged fence, loose livestock, a fire, or other emergencies. Additionally, the assigned number can be used to mark property such as side-by-sides, tractors, four-wheelers, and other equipment.
We are implementing this program because we receive an average of 50 calls per month regarding loose livestock. We also have multiple grass & wildland fires. Often, the landowner does not reside in the county, or we are unable to locate a contact person. This initiative will allow us to better serve our ranching community and respond more efficiently to these incidents. This information is kept local at Dispatch and is not used for any other purpose.
You can download from www.eastlandcountytexas.com website. Complete the form, turn it in and someone will contact you to arrange delivery of your plaques. Alternatively, you can pick up a form at the Sheriff’s Office or from a Deputy. The plaques are provided at no cost to property owners. Once completed, you can submit the form via email at ECSO@eastlandcountytexas.gov , drop it off at the Sheriff’s Office, or hand it to a Deputy.
