Judge Fields presides over Eastland's Constitutional County Court. The County Judge is the Presiding Officer of the Commissioners' Court, which is responsible for budgetary matters and administration of the county. The County Judge is also the Emergency Management Coordinator for the county.
Eastland's County Court has original criminal jurisdiction over Class A and B misdemeanors, and appellate jurisdiction over cases arising out of Justice Courts and Municipal Courts. The County Court also has civil jurisdiction over probate, guardianship and mental health matters.
Linda Whetstone, Court Coordinator, is responsible for court administration. Cherre Livingston is the Court Secretary and is responsible for the County's 9-1-1 addressing and indigent health care administration. |
